Message from the site creator
So excited to share this site with you, thank you for taking the time to look through. I really hope it helps you plan your ideal wedding on the Island. Please understand I am not a wedding planner and these links are for you to go through and contact individually. I grew up on this beauty of an Island and have been working as a professional photographer for the past 15 years. The idea for this site has been brewing for the passed 10 years. I really felt a need to bring everyone together to make it easier for wedding clients and make sure the best vendors are visible online. Working with my favorite locals we have gathered together almost everything you might need. Please give me a shout if you have any feedback.
Salt Spring Island as a Wedding destination
Salt Spring Island has long been regarded as one of the best travel destinations in BC. It's no surprise then that it hosts hundreds of weddings every year. Couples that want unique, rustic and relaxed weddings are drawn here for good reason. There are venues and vendors to meet all your needs, and an endless variety of activities and places to explore.
The most lively of the Gulf Islands, Salt Spring has dozens of Artist's Studios to visit, wineries and cheese farms to experience, as well as a craft cidery and brewery to enjoy after an active day exploring its outdoor offerings. With 3 different mountains to hike, several public lakes and beaches to swim at, and a vast selection of forest trails to wander, you won't be short on options. Charming cafes and local hand-made goods are to be found all over the island, and reminders of the land and community's vitality is always near at hand. And no where is this more apparent than at Salt Spring's awesome Saturday Market, the pulsing heart o the island, held in Ganges from April to October.
There are so many great photo spots on Salt Spring Island to choose from. I have lived here my whole life and had the great privilege of documenting weddings for over 20 years. I am super happy to chat with you about 2nd location spots that have the best light for that time of year and are a bit hidden away for more privacy. Think about what type of setting you most desire. Bright beaches, rich forests, mountain tops, still lakes or open fields? There's bound to be a backdrop just perfect for you.
